Dear all,
We wish you all a warm welcome to what is our very first Escape Trustees Newsletter! We do hope you have enjoyed the lovely, warm and colourful Autumn and are looking forward to the very fast approaching Christmas Festive Season.
We’d like to inform you of the current and future plans we have for Escape. These include varied, fun and diverse events to be held here at the Sanctuary, local venues and also in London. We really hope you will do your best to support these events because with your help and assistance we can really grow into an even stronger, more effective and dynamic Animal Sanctuary, one that can help out even more neglected, unwanted and abused animals.
In the past year we have seen the Sanctuary expand and diversify. We now work everyday with children from the wider Essex community. We have many students who are taking their Duke of Edinburgh awards, students from local colleges doing their work experience and we also have children who have special needs who benefit enormously from interaction with our animals. All these children are absolutely brilliant, they are friendly and hardworking and are an absolute credit to their parents, schools and most of all themselves! One thing we have truly learned – animals need humans and humans most definitely need animals!
We are fundraising like mad to open up a function hall for events and exhibitions and also a cafe so that the local community and those further afield can enjoy food and refreshments while visiting and learning about our animals. Do please visit our website and keep up to date with all that is going on at the Sanctuary and if you feel you can help out or assist in anyway, please please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, we would be so grateful. Anything you can do would help us so much!
We have recently set up an Escape Committee (see website for members) who are hardworking, driven, fun and ambitious. We are confident they have plenty of ideas and plans instore to take the sanctuary onwards and upwards in the near future so please watch this space!!
Finally, we must give a mention and a big thank you to the fantastic Escape Staff Team headed by Shannen Fuller. They are the most amazing, kind, hardworking and dedicated team of individuals who look after all the animals with tons of love and care. They work tirelessly with a much needed sense of humour and even though they see some pretty gruesome and heartbreaking things, never fail to achieve the best outcome for all the animals involved. Thank you to all of them.
We look forward to seeing you for ‘Mince Pies and Carols’ on December 20th (see events) and until then we wish you all good luck with your Christmas shopping, be happy and keep smiling……
Kind regards,
Deborah Lovelock & Jayne Lewis
